EHC LifeBuilders Values Statement
EHC LifeBuilders’ mission is to cultivate the potential of those that are homeless to get housed and stay housed. As a nonprofit agency, we are a public trust that is accountable to those we serve as well as to the community that supports our work. The following set of values guides our efforts.
Passion
Our passion to end homelessness requires each of us to continuously evaluate our efforts and ensure that what we do contributes to the accomplishment of this goal. Passion for our mission also calls us to be the leading voice in the community for the homeless in order to dispel negative myths about the unhoused and to improve public systems of care. Until everyone has a home, this passion must drive all we do to end homelessness.
Excellence
We aspire to an excellence that is marked by diligent effort, both individual and collective. Pursuing excellence means always bringing our highest quality work forward and demonstrating integrity, accountability, and transparency in all aspects of our work. We will be satisfied only when we achieve the best we can envision for our clients and the operation of our agency.
Creativity
We visualize a better future for homeless service delivery. We will lead in the development of a more humane, efficient, and cost-effective system of care by being open to opportunity, welcoming challenges, and using data to create innovative models of service delivery.
Responsibility
Being responsible, we are thoughtful stewards of our resources and we acknowledge our accountability to ourselves, our clients, and the community we are charged to serve. We make decisions based on our capabilities and capacity in order to provide the highest possible care to our clients.
Respect
A culture of respect for ourselves, our clients, and our community is essential to nurturing free and open discourse, problem solving, and the creative expression that is essential to ending homelessness. Our respect is demonstrated by a commitment to act ethically, to welcome diversity, and to engage in an open exchange of ideas and decisions.
Teamwork
Working as a team enhances the satisfaction we derive from the hours and energies that we devote to EHC’s mission. High quality interactions between individuals and across teams promote open communication that improves decision-making, elevates our dialogue as an agency, and encourages a culture of learning. We support and celebrate the success of individuals and the collective.
