We are currently in need of the following items:

If you have items to donate which do not fall in these three categories, please bring them to one of EHC LifeBuilders’ community partners such as Goodwill or St. Vincent de Paul.

 

Bed and bath

We now supply more than just our emergency shelter with bedding. Families and singles moving into their own place need bedding too, so all sizes are welcome along with other basic bath needs. Items should be clean, odor-free, and only gently used. All bedding should be in twin or full size. Your donation will can warm both body and soul:

  • Bedspreads/covers
  • Blankets (not electric)
  • Comforters
  • Sheets (non-flannel preferred)
  • Sleeping bags
  • Towels

Toiletries and personal care

EHC LifeBuilders provides shelter or housing to about 1,400 people each night. Thanks to your generous donations, they can keep themselves clean. If you are looking for a special donation project for a group, conduct a toiletry drive. The following is a list of needed toiletries. Items in bold are always in short supply.

  • African American products (for hair, shaving, etc.)
  • Bandaids
  • Body lotion
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine products (sanitary supplies)
  • Laundry soap, bleach, softener (powder form only)
  • Nail files (non-metal)
  • New underwear and socks
  • Plastic containers for soap
  • Razors & shaving cream
  • Soap (bar and liquid)
  • Sanitary supplies
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Shower slippers, flip flops (all sizes)
  • Toilet paper
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Dental floss

Gift certificates and services

You may not realize that you can help the homeless stretch their limited income by providing needed services or a perk for special occasions. Perhaps you are a provider of one of the services listed below or you know someone who would be willing to give such services. Please consider the following suggestions or similar ideas:

  • Car repairs and maintenance (oil change, new battery, etc.)
  • Dental work
  • Footcare
  • Haircuts
  • Gift certificates from any store
  • Bus tokens/day passes
  • Gas cards
  • Movie passes
  • Phone cards
  • Tickets to sports events
  • Tickets to Theater
