While every one of us has been impacted by the economic downturn, some residents lack the support system to endure the loss of a job or reduced retirement funds. Many who request our services are homeless for the first time – young veterans, senior citizens, youth aging out of the foster care system, and working families who never dreamed the threat of homelessness could affect them.
Every dollar you give is an investment in our community and will help people regain stability and achieve self-sufficiency.
You can give in so many ways, including:
- Cash gifts — you may donate online today!
- Memorial and honorary gifts
- Gifts of stock
- Matching gifts/employee giving
- Planned gifts
- LifeBuilder Circle
For more information about any of these ways to give or for more assistance in setting up your gift, contact our Development Department at 408-539-2103.

Memorial or Honorary Gifts
Your memorial gift to EHC LifeBuilders can help perpetuate the values and ideals that guided someone’s life. Gifts may also honor a person during his or her life or commemorate a significant event like a birthday, wedding or holiday. Honorees receive a letter acknowledging the honor and who made the gift without gift amounts mentioned. Donors will receive a tax acknowledgement.
To make a gift in memory or honor of someone, check the Memorial or Honorary Gifts box when you donate online. Click here for the Memorial of Honorary Gift Form. Please print it, complete it, and return it with your gift.
Gifts of Appreciated Stock
Making a gift of securities is a great way to support EHC LifeBuilders. Giving stock that you have held for more than one year is an excellent way to make a “cashless” gift, avoid capital gains tax and receive a tax deduction. You can use the stock’s fair market value (the value of the high and low price the day we receive it) as your charitable deduction, up to 30% of your adjusted gross income.
Please contact the Development Department by email or by telephone at 408-539-2103 or email for the latest stock transfer directions.
Matching Gifts/Employee Giving
One of the easiest ways to increase your gift to EHC LifeBuilders is through your employer’s Matching Gift program. Thousands of employers – including corporations, foundations, not-for-profit organizations and associations – match their employees charitable contributions, sometimes for as much as double the amount of the initial gift. Here’s how to participate:
- Contact your employer’s Human Resources office to determine if your company matches employee donations.
- Obtain a matching gift form and review the program guidelines to ensure that EHC LifeBuilders is eligible to receive matching gifts. Conditions and criteria for gift matching vary by employer.
- Complete the donor section of the form and submit it along with your check or credit card authorization to:
507 Valley Way
Milpitas, CA 95035
Our development department will verify receipt and return the form to your company for matching funds.
